I recently just replaced my working SeaClone100 with a Aquac Nano Remora skimmer and was just curious on how long before I start seeing results. The SeaClone took around four days before it started producing froth. I heard alot of good things about Aqua Nano remora skimmer and decided to give it a shot. The worse thing that can happen is if it doesn't work I guess I could always go back to the SC. Does anyone have an idea as to how long the break in period is. I did follow the instructions to washing out the unit with warm water. The only thing I don't know is how to set the collection cup. Not sure if it is set too high or too low. I have it sitting just above the bubbles. Any ideas?

Well, it's been 24 hours and still no froth. The instructions says it could be 1 to 2 weeks before it starts to produce anything. I hope it doesn't take that long. Lol Maybe, I'm just being impatient. I'll keep track and let you guys know how long it takes exactly and how much it actually produces. Until then, I'll just have to wait.

I would give it at least three days to build up that slim coat before worrying. After it breaks in, then start making small alterations slowly until you find the sweet spot that works for you.

thats about how long my aqua c remora took to break in,nothing but microbubbles and a dry cup for about a week or so,but after it "slimed up" it's a whole different skimmer now. They're great units that only requires some patience and an occasional cleaning.

Thanks all. I was starting to get discouraged with it and was wondering if I made the right decision when swapping out the SC100 for this aquac nano remora. Like I said before, I heard so many good things about them that I figured it would be a good upgrade. I have more confidence in it now after hearing about your experiences with this type of unit. I really appreciate everyones comments and hope you guys continue to be available if I come across other issues. My tank is fairly new and I'm a newbie to this hobby so I'm still learning.
Thanks again and I'll post when I start seeing results. I'll keep my fingers crossed. Lol

    P.S.
    I love this hobby!!!!

Update on aquac nano remora break in period

Well, it's official, day three and it produce some froth. It has a light greenish/yellowish color to it and this nano looks like it produces alot of foam. Looks like it stopped skimming for now but can't wait to see how much more it can produce. Things are looking up!!:)
