    Hey everyone,
So i recently bought a Aquac Remora protein skimmer.
I installed it with a pump which was rated at 264 g/ph which i got from a hardware store. i had it running for 2 and a half weeks and was pulling a light wet yellow skim.
I decided i should get a pump from the LFS as the one i was running wasnt rated for saltwater.
I installed the new pump an Aqua one 103 rated at 317 g/ph.

Now since i have installed the new pump the skimmer is not pulling anything at all. (been running for 4 days straight now)
The bubbles are not even rising up the neck.

Any ideas on what might be the problem.

(i also cleaned the injector and collection cup)

    THANKS

Its probably breaking in or the pump is over rated so its not actually pumping what it claims. Try a maxijet1200 they are about$ 20 new they work pretty good

I would agree that the pump is likely "breaking in."

However, I have run these skimmers with 640 gph pumps for years, and they absolutely "sing." I would argue that the pump is not over-rated at all.
