I bought a remora with the Mazijet 1200 since many people recommend that combination. Well it has been over 2 and a half weeks and i havent seen nothing. I had the seaclone 100 before this and right now i think the seaclone was better . I want to know how people got the remora to work or if i might have a bad connection. When i got it all i did was attach the maxijet to the skimmer, put hot water like it said in the instructions, then put it in the back, and adjust the little legs in the back so it wont fall off. That was it.Can someone help

where do you have the oring on the collection cup???

you should start with it at the very bottom. then over a few days raise it a little bit at a time untill skimmate starts to form in the cup??

nothing in the cup->raise o ring
to much water -> lower o ring

There should be a white screw on the top of the downdraft tube that controls your airflow in, unscrew it to add air. Then the skimmer cup should have a rubber o ring around it, that is what you use to adjust the water height in the skimmer cup... hope that helps

I would not think you have to do anything but adjust the cup up or down

And it will take a while (week) sometimes for it to operate as intended

Especially if you are type A and constantly cleaning your gear

Mine works fine, and the only adjustment is up or down with the cup

If you add something to the tank, IE a new coral or epoxy or whatever, that can also screw with it

You will get a bubbly white foam instead of the normal discharge, but that happens when you add something, as I said above

    Hope that helps

from the pictures look like you could raise the o-ring up quite a bit, if its not collecting anything

i am pretty sure that the white screw in the intake tube if for cleaning only, not air adjustment. the remora doesnt really use injected air to foam, it uses a water jet.

looks like you tank is really clean?? is it brand new?? if there is no bio-load on the tank then there wont be any skimmate

Tagging along here. Can hardly believe my eyes, Remora's have a good rep. Maybe too much water not enough air? Back both off and start with the air, gradually increasing water flow and try to find the happy spot is all I can say. good luck, and I hope you don't just have a lemon?
