Concerning dosing chemicals in a SW tank, I would stay away from putting anything in the tank (other than normal additives for ALK/CA/MG). IMO params should be dealt with naturally because chemicals can cause more hurt than help in the end. Figuring out what is causing something that's out of whack is your best option to dealing with it.

Yes, I would suggest doing a full clean of the skimmer/pump. If you can't get white vinegar, I would run it in warm water at least. I think the skimmer is most likely reacting to something in the tank.

Sure, sounds like a plan. Let us know if it gets better. I got my skimmer brand new and it def calmed down rather quickly with the bubbles (1.5 weeks). SInce everyone's system is different it's so hard to pinpoint what it is, but hopefully it's dealing with what was in the water and will calm down for you soon.

I soaked in hot water a few times and rinsed. Still bubbles galore. But i gotta wait a week or 2. Is there a way i can just have the skimmer off during the day and put it on at night only? I'd like to look at my tank and see claer water not bubbles
