The volume in the 30 is not going to give you much brnefit in a 45. You usually dont use anything smaller than a 70 for a hob fuge and even then maybe for a 10-20g. What is your goal with the fuge? Reduce nitrates? Pod farm?

Yah i just wanted to put some chaeto from my 80 gal sump/fuge so i could help with nitrate and have a pod hotel. Haha! My 45 settup so far... 45 tall, 75lbs ls, 55-60lbs lr, aquac remora w/mj 1200, single 150w 10k mh with 14 blue leds. i just put the aquaclear 30 on with it full of chateo. If i leave the lid off my mh should be enough light while its on shouldnt it? I will find another hob filter or an actual fuge as soon as i can. I have an aquaclear 110 but it a couple inches too long with how i have my mh clip on mounted.
