    Will the aquaclear 70 mod into a refugium even do anything for my tank ( i would put chaeto in it) or would the in tank be better. I really need something to help me with my nitrates.

    It'd do the aquaclear, just for aesthetic reasons, plus it should help keep your tank seeded with pods! have ya thought about a reactor?

    sounds like what you need! go on BRS or Marine Depot and read up on them! They help get rid of nitrates and phosphates!

    you're a 55g right? That thing is overkill! check out the links i sent and look at;

    BRS Bio Pellets - English and read the info about them! Would help you're nitrate issues and under $100 total

    I have an aquaclear 70 on a 10 gallon nano. I was going to add chaeto to reduce my nitrates, but ended up using a combo of purigen and chemi pure elite instead. I have zero nitrates now.
