Hey everyone I've been running a 45G FOWLR Tank w the AC 70 filter for awhile now. I recently wanted to move to reefing so I got a 20g long for a sump. I was wondering if I could use the AC filter to siphon from an overflow box in my tank to my sump instead of a gravity siphon to the sump. The AC 70 is rated @ 300gph and my return pump is a Rio Plus 1700 rated @352gph @ 4' head. Appreciate any input.8)

No you can not. You would have to be able to perfecly match the flow rates of the two pumps and that is not possible, you would be asking for flooding.

+1 to AZ, but you don't want to use a straight "gravity siphon" either. That's asking for supertrouble.

Eshopps overflow box, or you can make a DIY overflow box... There are some on google, and most likely some on here. I like my eshopps overflow though.
