Not sure if this is the right forum. I know some of you use this controller and was just wondering some tips and tricks etc. I think pack uses this and has listed some programming info if i recall correctly.

I am getting a ridiculous deal on one of these from a club member.. an ACIII with temp probe and DC8 for $250

That is a pretty sweet deal on it, nice one.

What are you going to be using it to control? That will determine some of the tricks you might need. Is it going to be controlling a calcium reactor, kalkwasser reactor, kalkwasser in your topoff, lights etc?

There are some safety measures with certain commands as well, it is kind of hard to outline them all though since it really depends how you're going to be using them all.

The first "trick" I would do is get it hooked up to the internet so it can send you alerts if something goes wrong and so you can control it remotely, IMO that's the single best feature of the AC3.

You will love the controller. I use a ACIII Pro and don't know what I would do without it. If you get it I will show you some programming tips so your not leaving you code open on one end to allow trouble.

Yeah I definately have plans to hook it to the net as soon as I get it.

I plan on running lights (actinics, halides, moon)... heater.. fan... as of now I think thats about it.. I am redoing my sump around this same time.. so an ATO may be in the works as well... then maybe kalk reactor to help with any ph problems.. not that I have had any.. i think a carbon/phos reactor is more important for me at this time..

is the sunrise/sunset function of the ACIII pretty neat? I thought about running with that... actinics first.. then halides maybe 2 hours later.... and halides off 2 hours before sunset..

Also the lunar function only works with their moon lights right?

Trying to think of other questions...

Thanks otty.. i remember you posting some stuff at some time I think too
