I would at least step up to the ACIII so you can have internet capabilities. Nice to be able to change stuff on the road and have it e-mail or text you phone if something goes wrong. Nice piece of mind and insurance.

You will love having the controller.

+1 on Otty's comment. I have the Jr. and I've been jumping through flaming hoops trying to get it connected to my lan.

Serial port is intended for direct connection to a computer. Ethernet port would be for connection to the internet. There are adapters and software workarounds, which can convert serial to bluetooth (for lan), or serial to ethernet (for lan/wan). I've had limited success with both so far.

I will have to consider the AC III. Thanks for your input Otty. May I ask some examples of what you would have to change over the internet once you get it all set. I don't run any reactors so I would't need to change any of that. I don't run th reactors because I have just a couple sps corals and not planning on adding any more.

That is the limit to the Jr. No real direct access to internet but you can run a local computer with Aqua Notes on it.

The sky is the limit on that answer. Depends on what you control with it. I run exhaust fan, reactors, ATO, O3 generator.....etc. All which can be adjusted or shut off at any internet connection I am at. Just really depends on what you want to do. Just keep in mind you may need to expand in a year or two and to buy another ACIII because the Jr. won't do what you want will be expensive.

It's really a choice of yours if you have the budget for it.
