    Hey all so one of the guys I work with makes his own "live" rock...he has a few tanks and would be willing to sell to me for about $6/lb...Do you think that is a fair price and also would it be wise to add some to an already established tank?

    It's a fair price if you don't want to wait for coralline to appear on your base rocks, but I bet that most of it will recess or die in the new system cuz of the different light and parameters, and you may ended up with just regular live rock you can get on CL for $2-$3 /lb. It's a good looking rocks anyway.

    I already have about 100lbs in my 75g...It has been in there for 2 years. I was just looking at getting more rock for some added filtration

    all in the DT or also in a fuge or sump?seems like its enough rock anyways ...

    i can get live rock at my lfs thats directly from the gulf with a ton of coral for 2.50 a pound. sounds like a rip off

    i got mine for $20 a pound and i was about to kill myself when no hitchhikers but a butt load of GHA etc came on!:angry:
