Aqualight Advanced question

I currently have a 46 gallon with 2 150w aqualight advanced fixtures (the tank mount ones), and am about to upgrade to a 75rr with canopy. I know you are not supposed to mount the aqualight fixtures under a canopy, so I was wondering if it would be possible to disassemble the fixtures and mount them in the canopy like a retro kit. If this is possible would I need new reflectors or will the stock ones be ok? Thanks

 

I am sure you could cleverly take apart the fixture and turn it into a retro... I would recommend larger and better reflectors no doubt, the Coralife ones are not all that great and if you are going to take the time to make the retro you might as well by two reflectors for it...

You really wouldn't need to buy much aside from the reflectors....
