AquaMaxx Hob-1 skimmer review

They are manufactured by JNS out of Tiawan. Their cone line uses the new Sicce pumps.

 

still got coffee every morning lol, I did bring the skimmer cup down some but still only about a quarter of its length, and the cup is pretty big too. It DOES do the whole microbubble thing after feeding rods w/ selcon which is annoying so I try to keep it off for a couple hours after i feed. I never bothered to update this thread cause its been great ever since I plugged it in. I clean the neck of the cup from the inside once a week and have had no problems at all, still running quietly.

 

Still going strong and silent, gonna take it off and clean it up today

 

Hey I just got this skimmer set up last night seems to be working good but have a really bad mircobubble problem.Did you have this problem too or was it good from the start?

 

It's probably just breaking in, give it a few days, I made sure to rinse the skimmer very well before installing it to avoid this problem but they should go away in a couple days. This is normal for pretty much any new skimmer

 

I've had the skimmer running for a few weeks and my skimmate does not look like yours. Mine looks more like tea. I have a 50g with two clownfish and some CuC. Additionally, I have microbubbles.. lots of them. I am considering doing an HOB overflow + sump so that I can get rid of the microbubbles with a bubble trap.
