Hey guys, I just got my Aquamaxx skimmer and tried starting it up today. The tank is brand new, just got it set up last night, and I wanted to start up the skimmer just to make sure it works. Plugged it in and got it primed, and it pushed some foam up into the collection cup but was also pushing water up with it, just about filled the cup to the top. Any idea on what is causing this? Also, it was pushing a small amount of water up through the o-ring that is around the cup, I'm sure this was because the water was just under the cup. Any suggestions?

    Thanks

Ya. Unplug it and forget about it for a few weeks. You are not going to get anything and it is not worth trying to set up.

You will have to break it in and it won't do anything till the tank cycles so right now about all you can tell is that it runs.

But when things do get going let us know how you like it. Thats a pretty good HOB.

It seems to be a good unit, I've read a bunch of good reviews on it and they were all good. The only thing I have to gripe about is that it came with no instructions! No big deal really, just found em on the Aquamaxx website. I'll keep ya posted as things progress.

    Thanks

I just got my AquaMaxx 150 up and running. It's an impressive machine. Mine did the same you just have to adjust the valve that let's the water out on the bottom of the machine. Look me like3 times and 2 overflows till I got it perfect. I'm collecting about a cup of yellow water everyday since.

Anyone have a AquaMaxx 150 unit? I got this one so it's rated to do 2x the water in my tank
