Which is better: AquaMedic dosing pumps or Bubble Magnus dosing pumps? Need something to automate two-part.

might be hard to find folks that have used both to get a fair comparison...

I have and use the aqua medic.

Here is a copy/paste from a post I made just this morning

I have (experience too) with only 1. Aqua Medic Reefdoser Dosing Pump.

I like it. I don't know much about the others, so this isn't comparison per se from me.

With the aqua medic, it runs in intervals, not time o'clock.

so you can set your alk, for example, to dose every 24 hours. (or whatever you want to do). but to set when that 24 hours is (like 11pm or whatever) you need to set that pump at 11pm. if you want the Ca pump to go every 24 hours at noon, you need to set the pump at noon. you can't program in noon. it'll do whatever interval you program and start the countdown when you program it. make sense?

Also suggest getting a battery backup. The unit will not lose your settings, but it will reset all intervals to when power comes back on (i.e. all three pumps will dose when power is restored and every 24 hours after together unless you step in and reset them at specified times... a battery backup completely negates that drawback (and is extra piece of mind anyway)). Actually, if it does lose power, it doesn't just dose when power comes back on, it goes into like a standby mode and won't dose anything until you come in and tell it to go again... but the interval times will be reset... anyway, i put a battery backup on mine and have never touched it since it's been dialed in.

No that's not me, it's a guy on the beach in St. Lucia that tried to sell me some wacky tobbacci:) I think I want the Bubble Magnus pump because it does not require a reset after power outage and it's cheaper.
