What's so great about THEIR beneficial bacteria. Is theirs better than Live rock? Not too sure. Maybe helps with a FO system. I'm skeptical.

Anaerobic bacteria is what does away with nitrates. I am not sure that Live Rock allows for this type of bacteria to grow, as it only grows in an oxygen depleted environment, like a DSB. The company says you never have to change the filters, and you only have to put a few drops of alcohol or simple syrup in them once a week. Also the small filter is like doing a 35% water change every week.

I dunno. I always stand by the "if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is" motto. If its really that effective, why is it not a standard practice? Why have I not even heard of them before now? Maybe it works. I say if you have the "spare" money to try it then you would be doing the community a favor. Test and make a thread about it.

Edit: just watched his video. I am not entirely familiar with the process but this looks to me like its vodka dosing. not sure that its worth the money.

I could not afford to try this product. The price of a small size filter is 250 dollars although if it took weekly water changes out of play, then it would be worth the money. I was doing more reading and the water drips out at 2 drops per second. Which they calculate to be about a 20g a week water change.

I have done some reading about Vodka Dosing as well. I just am not completely sold on it yet.

with Vodka dosing you have to do it everyday, but with this filter you only have to feed it once or twice a week.

First off if you have high nitrates you need to establish, why? feeding less and regular water changes may solve your problems.

As for this product I dont understand why they are saying you can do less water changes, personally I dont do water changes just to remove nitrates I do water changes to put back in the elements absorbed by the corals etc.

+1 to "if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is". In this hobby I believe there are no shortcuts and being in it for the long run with dedication and maintenance is what I would stick with. The vodka dosing is a proven method, is it something I am going to be doing with any of my tanks ever? More than likely not. I rather find the root cause then adding something else into my water but that's just me. I would stick to a proven protein skimmer when necessary and I am a firm believer in water changes. WC's are beneficial in so many ways (we won't get into that due to that we could discuss that in a separate thread) and sometimes many things can't beat a simple WC. Personally I would not be spending my money one of those systems. I think that if they were that great then a lot more people would be using them on the forums and reporting back.
