    ever been there? is it worth 6 hrs in the car plus tolls and gas from li ny? how long does it take to go through? im hoping to go tues but we wont get there till 230 bc my dog hasa vet apt at 11. nd i wanna b ablento see everything. any input is apreciated

    That's a trip I'd rather make in the summer so that you can enjoy the aquarium and the seaport. Not worth a 6 hour trip IMO. Certainly not as nice as the aquarium near you in Riverhead.

    we went to the 1 in riverhead afew times and the ny aquarium the other day ...some1 mentioned mystic as one of the best on the east coast so we figured this is our last opertunity for awhile bc of school. riverhead is better?

    Yeah, I think Riverhead is better but their gorgeous reef tank may influence my preference :D Again, if you're going to visit Mystic, do it during the summer so that you can visit the entire area. I'm not saying that it's not a nice aquarium, I'm just saying that if you're going to travel that far, you might as well make a day of it.

    how is it size wise to riverhead... its hard between mine nd my friennd/gf to get an entire day off. not saying riverhead wasnt bangn just been there a buncha times already lookn for somethin new...do you have anny pics of mystic by any chance?

    I don't have any pictures I'm afraid but I'm sure you can find some on their website. Probably a floor plan of sorts too so you can get an idea of the size of the aquarium and what's in it. :)

    Mystic is ok for a small aquarium, I agree it's better in the summer when you can tour the seaport as well.
    As far as best on the east coast I prefer The National Aquarium in Baltimore
    Having been to nearly all the larger aquariums around the US in the last 20 years it has always been my favorite

    Go to the Baltimore one. It should be closer depending on your location and is a lot of fun.
