Ok, scratch Baltimore. If you really had to go to an aquarium and didn't care what it was like and that it had polar bears go to the Camden Aquarium. Last time I was there was in first grade so about 18 years ago, maybe they got rid of the polar bears.

Okay, I am from Georgia, so not a greta authority on this...but...I have been to mystic, and I liked it alot. Also, on your way, you could stop on Norwalk CT. and go to the Maritime Center Aquarium and get an education on long island sound. Its a neat place. When I was in College, I worked at the Maritime center as an aquarist in the shark exhibit for a summer....it was really cool...and while the sound is not as flashy as a coral reef, it is cool to see whats in there...so knock out both in one day and maximize your trip....

PS...again...I am in GA...so if hitting Norwalk and Mystic all in one day geographically makes no sense..cut me some slack :)

PPS...the best aquarium on the east coast is in Chattanooga TN in my opinion. Designed by the same folks that designed the national aquarium...but about 10 year later..it rocks.

you guys should check out the one we have here on Mallorca, Spain... it's the biggest in Europe and has some awesome displays... but I guess that would take more than one day of travel. lol.
