So my 90g has 150lbs of LR. It was an existing tank I bought. So we had to move it and I didn't have much time to dork around with things. The PO had some caves in back. I didn't want that and just sort of stacked stuff up trying to get the outside pieces and corals in place.

So now the rocks are just there, the fish still have plenty of room inside even though I didn't really plan it that way. I'm thinning out my zoos making room for the corals I want. I'm reluctant to fix anything permanently since I have no idea how I will have to arrange thing in the future with the new additions.

    So here are my questions:

How much LR in needed for a healthy reef? Do I have too much?

Other than real elaborate setups, what are some general pointers for arranging rock work?

Should I leave a lot of room inside the rock work for the fish, or will they still be fine if I pack it a bit tighter and leave more room out side? (do you know what I mean?)

I know this is all subjective, I was just looking for some advice from your experience. Since mine is limited.;)

Just fro reference, here it is.

I think your tank looks awesome. Rearranging rock is not good for the fish and your tank in general. They will get stressed out and develop some sort of sickness.

You can do it initially and maybe oncemore but not more than that. The amount of love rock you have is good. I don't think its too much. Your fish still have plenty of room to swim and hide.

I try to position my love rock off the sand so that the least amout of it is touching the sand. This exposes much more sand for filtration, gives fish more hiding space and more space for other inverts in your tank.

If you have to remove some...do it from the front so you can see more sand and the fish will swim infront of you...gives it more of a beach look.

Looks good, You can't have to much but you need to make sure you have good flow around it so that "stuff" doesn't settle and rot.

I like it. Most people do less LR than you and truthfully you don't get the same effect as your tank. Its possibly one of the best tanks I've even seen. Good job.

you have enough rock. and it looks like a good setup.
some general advice for aquascaping i learned in planted tanks, is a 1-3-2 set up is a good arrangement of decor. where the numbers are the height of the rock.
    you don't want, 1-2-3, 2-1-2 or 2-2-2

there are other good arrangements but they were more complicated and i don't remember.
you don't have to use the 1-3-2 setup but its usually the easiest setup to make the tank look good
