Hey folks I joust bought a box of this...looks like pretty neat stuff. It comes in 2 pcs (like most epoxy) and it's like putty or clay. You kneed two equal parts of it together, than you can use it to bond your lr together or use to attach frags to your lr. It also says you can use it as a clam base. So I was wondering if anyone has used this stuff and if there may be any tips for application. Thx!

No tips really, just mix together and bond your LR or frags together. It works underwater too. It's pretty neat stuff.

    I use this exact product

its great for frag plugs or frag bases when placing them on a reasonably flat piece of rock
it takes a few hours to harden, so if the coral frag you are securing is not balanced properly, they can topple over before the putty sets

if you are trying to secure frags to uneven or sloping surfaces of your reef, then super glue gel would be a better option IMO

once it has set, it is very secure though so snails and crabs could not topple any frags secured by this when hardened IME

the good news is, if you for example want to start an acro or SPS frag lower down then then move it up later after it has adjusted to the light etc, then this reef putty is ideal, as you can secure it but later its still relatively easy to snap the frag plug or disc off the rock and then use new putty to locate elsewhere

I tried a green and white epoxy. Mixes to white. Stuff doesn't "stick" well at all. I don't know what's up with the stuff that I got but it just isn't a good bond to anything but my fingers which tends to be more than obnoxious.......Especially when it's sticking to me and not to the freakin rock I'm putting it on.

Thx for input guys...so I had 3 or 4 zoas on a square frag tile ( thx a lot Phil), and just so you all know this was my first attempt at messing with any frag or fragging per say. I carefully sliced the zoas off tile and pushed them in carefully to a piece of rubble that i had molded some epoxy on. I then was fiddling with it, to place on my LR and the d*&N zoas fell rt off dwn in the deep crevasses of my LR...GONE!!! ARGH!!
