I've had my tank up running for over 2 1/2 years and change the aquascape about one a month but I'm at the point of tired of doing it. I'm thinking of epoxy certain smaller rocks together that way its all set and move the entire piece when cleaning or need to get something instead of building the puzzle again.

I was told in past that JB Water Weld works great as long as you do it in small amounts each time? I don't plan on using entire stick but maybe doing a little at the time. I have 2 sticks of it that

Is JB Water Weld safe for the tank? I heard as long as you use small amounts it won't make the skimmer go wild. Somebody also told me that the product can cause an algae bloom?

What are your thoughts if anybody has used it before?

I've used plenty of 2 part epoxy and never had any problems. Just knead it outside the tank and stick it where you want it.

Also, don't buy the stuff sold at fish stores. It's expensive. Buy the epoxy at any hardware store. It's the same stuff and less expensive.

I have a thread in here about my aquascape. I used epoxy, foam, zip ties, and PVC. I used the 2 Fishies Epoxy and Gorillla Expoxy. With gorilla I ended up missing sand in it to cover the black foam.

Warning. Turn skimmer off if use epoxy. Trust me. Took me almost a week for my skimmer to settle down. I had to run tuning into a garbage can for 5-6 days for overflow.
I'll see if I can find my thread

    WoW!

Your aquascape came out really nice and love how you have it all detailed in what you did. You went all out and tried and used everything to create the aquascape.

I love the idea of using the rods to secure the rocks.

You mentioned on your thread that let it cure for 24 hours? Did you have it in ro/di water when when curing? Inside tank? outside of tank? I was told I can put everything back in tank once the epoxy sets in but trying to get the idea in what you did?

all mine was done dry outside tank. I could do it inside but didn’t need too. Cure times are different. It smelled too so wanted that to go away. But if you cant remove your rocks you can do in the tank.
Remember turn that skimmer off :)

so, I've always heard the skimmer portion of using epoxy, but did you notice any ph swings? When reading on the link I provided up a few slots, it mentions that it won't affect PH. Does normal epoxy have an effect on PH when used?

Just so you don't have to go and look:
EPO Putty is a revolutionary two part epoxy putty that is totally reef safe.
It is unlike any other epoxy putty that you have ever used.
Some of its advantages over other epoxy putties out there are:
Cures rock solid and will not pull away from rock work after curing.
    Will not affect aquarium pH.
Will not cause protein skimmers to overflow.
Cream color closely matches that of reef rock.
Can be applied on both dry or wet surfaces and even cures underwater.
No shrinkage; it can be drilled, ground or filed if need be.
No other epoxy putty on the market compares to EPO putty.
