Ok, several weeks ago I started gathering what I needed to set my 90gal back up. I have put the rock in and then took it back out 3 times and think I finally have it the way I want it. It stands completely off the back glass so circulation is not an issue, and there is a solid base of egg crate under all the rock.

Before I finish anchoring the rock together and add the rest of the sand around the base can anyone see any problems I may be overlooking?

Looks great! The thing with aquascaping is that its a p.i.t.a. Your always thinking that it could always look better. I like it, it looks natural.

I'm pretty new at this stuff, but, as far as appearance, I think it looks great! GOOD JOB!

I cant see any problems, but if I may be critical without offending; I dont like the 2 rocks on the right hand side :( My first thought was that they look a little un-natural?

But if you like it go with it!

    Thanks guys :victory:
Now I just need to build my wish list of inhabitants while it cycles for the next 4 to 6 weeks.

How soon is it safe to get a cleanup crew in there, should I wait till it completely cycles or just till the nitrites are about non existent?

PS. I took a lot of pics while doing this so I will do a build thread soon.8)

I always wait until the Ammonia and Nitrites are zero'd before adding mine
and then I dont add all at once, I add a couple of samples if you like if they start wandering around doing their thing with no issues , then I add more

You can get your cleanup crew rolling before the full cycle is complete.. . . use one clean up 'crew-member' (crab, snail, etc. . .) per gallon. I know 90 seems like an awful lot... but your tank will always look emaculate!

I think thats a little too much(IMO), you will see how many your system will be able to sustain. I have a 90g and I think I have around 30-35 crabs, 20-30 snails. If i try to add anymore, they just die. Your system can only keep so many alive.

Call me Mike…but I like it.

Just one question – is the rock up against the side on the bottom left? You will want it away enough so that you can clean your glass with a mag-float. I personally hate when a tank prohibits you from cleaning all the glass, always looks all nasty around the rock.
