Has anybody used these lights? I think they are new, I saw them in a Foster & Smith catalog. I have a 46 gal tank, the 36" fixture is 156w is that enough for most corals and what have you? Would that fixture produce more wattage, possibly? There are 2x39w actinic 420/460nm, and 2x39w 10000k, 4x1w lunar lights

I haven't used the fixture but it seems to have the right stuff from what I have read. It should also be enough to have just about any coral if you place them properly in the tank, higher light needing corals closer to the top.

I don't know about the quality of the bulbs. I would change to high end bulbs like ATI, Geisemann, UVL, KZ or GE after 6 months of use.

I have been looking for lights for a new tank (125gl) but i have a
20X high tank with a MH 150w and 2 - T5's 39 or 54 (not sure).... i have a ton of light (9.5 watts per gallon) and i have thought about making the switch. Fellow reefer i know has a set up with those lights and he swears by them. He has mostly Soft & lps. His tank is not that deep. So it works. I like the MH cause you can put just about anything in there. Growth, and colors are good.

Pro's: There is only 1 plug. so it runs both lights, and the lunar off of a single plug. (biggest advantage in my opinion) Plus the timers and on/off switch is digital on the device. They have a quality product for sure. plus you can always switch out the bulbs for better ones.

Con's: Might not be a lott of LIGHT. Limited to types of corals you can house. (depends on what you have or plan to get in the futre) Placement of coral is key!

Good luck and post some pics after you decide.

I would recommend starting with high end bulbs if you can afford getting the with the fixture.

BAMA great to know about the customer service and quality.
