I have been looking for a good T-5 fixture for some time. The aquatic life T-5 seems to be getting very popular. It has alot of feature... active cooling, timers, but how is the preformance? Does it have individual reflectors? Any input is appreciated thanks

    Hi reefraf,

If you are talking about these (AquaticLife T5 HO and Lunar Aquarium Lighting Systems | T5 Lighting | Lighting Systems | Aquarium - ThatPetPlace.com), I asked about them a few or so ago. There was someone on the board that has the 72" model and is very happy with them. There was also someone else who had ordered them. I am planning on buying the 48" model when I get the funds. Sorry I couldn't provide any help, but if you do a search you will see the thread where I asked about them.

Hello, I just bought this light 48" and set it up this past weekend. I really like all the features - timer, three built in fans, one cord, three different lights...
One thing I do not like is on my 55 gallon tank the light is almost as wide as the tank...I would have like to had a little more clearance (height and width) room on the front of the tank. If I need to stick my hand in the tank the light will have to come off and its is not small. Its almost a two man job to remove the light (for me anyways).
The light does have individual reflectors.
So far, overall, I am happy with my purchase; My corals perked up immediatly after I turned on the light!

    Hi Kathy,

Thanks for posting your thoughts on the light. Do you mind posting pictures of the light and the width issue you were talking about? Thanks!!!

    Hi Ivy,
I was taking pictures for you and my darn battery went dead. I will let it charge awhile and see if I can take pics in about an hour!

Ivy, I am not sure how to post pictures on here but if you go to my profile I put pictures of my tank/light on there. Please let me know if you can look at them. Sorry some of them aren't that great but I had to hurry and take the pics before my camera went dead again. Please let me know if you want me to take more pics tomorrow.

    Hi Kathy,

I was able to find the pictures just fine. Thanks for taking them and posting them. The light and your tank looks great. It sure is bright! It is also wider than I was thinking too. I still think that I am gong to order it though. Thanks for your help!!!

On the reflectors. The unit does have individual type reflectors for each bulb. It has one flat sheet that is bent into a triangle for each bulb. It is not as good as the good reflectors but it does seem to work very well. I have sold a couple of them and so far everybody is very happy with them, and the service from Aquatic light has been great.
