I bought the wrong size of T5HO lights. I am about an inch and a half short on each end from reaching my aquarium frame. Is there a trick anybody has to extending the mounting legs outward?

I was thinking about finding a steel beam that can fit in the slot the legs go and just mount the legs on the beam but not sure if I can find the correct size. My canopy project is still in the planning phase and can probably incorporate that however that won't be for a month and I want these lights in asap to check it out! :)

Any tips would be great!! Pictures would be greater!!!!!

I take the legs are moved to the very edge of the fixture?

You could try a 1x3 at each end cut to the depth of the tank.

If your legs are fully extended and you can't find a way to fix it you may have to hang the light. You can use some chain from the hardware store, of proper strength of course.
