I'm actually restarting my tank and I was using crushed coral and found it is horrible.

So, I need help deciding on whether I should use the bigger Aragonite Special Grade Reef Sand or this type of fine sand that was recommended to me.

I want to use the fine sand but everyone I talk to has only had problems with water cloudiness or algae growing on it.

I need someone with experience to let me know about it and help me with my decision.

    Thank you very much!

Fine or coarse, if algae wants to grow there it will. Go with which ever you prefer just try to keep in mind the bigger stuff in the sand always makes its way to the top and the finer stuff to the bottom.

Well, I use the argonite seafloor special grade for my 125g which is on hold at the moment do to me replacing some silicone that was over due to be redone.

Everything I read about the special grade was what I was looking for in a sand bed. People who have used fine sand beds do complain about it creating a sand storm in their tanks because of the high flow.

I would say it depends on what kind of tank you are going to run because that will determine what kind of flow you will need in your tank and depending on the flow you need will determine if you can go with the fine sand.

Is the finer sand in my link sound good or would you stay away from it?

i wouldnt use real fine sand, esp if you are doing a reef tank with alot of flow. i used fine sand and i could not stop it from blowing around and covering my rocks/ equiptment. i got a bag of natures ocean somoan pink sand and put a layer of that ontop of the fine sand, and it looks nice.
