Every morning so far, I find my new clownfish literally laying down, sleeping in the front corner of my tank. Every morning, same spot. It kind of makes my stomach sink a little, as I kind of really like him, and hope nothing is wrong. But as soon as the lights come, he perks right up and swims around just as normal as ever!

Anyone else ever notice this kind of behavior?

Yes they sleep. Clowns are always doing weird things though. As long as he perks up for dinner time at least you are ok.

That is normal, sometimes they just lay down flat on their sides in the sand.

I'v had ones that do that. I've also had ones that would float around towards the top of the tank all night. He fell victim to the overflow a few times. I had a tough time fishing him out of there. Now, mine burries himself in a frogspawn.

Oh OK, it was just concerning, waking up and seeing the fish laying on his side. But he totally perks up and eats great every morning! Thanks for the replies!

One of mine used to sleep laying flat on his side on top of my brain coral. It was a little concerning at first. Others have slept on their sides on top of outflow from the sump at the top of the tank.

I had a clown do the same thing. I didn't think much about it until my brain coral grabbed my fox face and tried to eat it.
