These corals are not in the center where the metal halide is.

Hard to tell what kinds of corals they are for sure, but if that is a chalice in the first picture I would not put it at an angle. Many corals I would but not a chalice.

The first is a chalice the second is a acan. I have another chalice that is pointing straight up. Should I move the chalice? I don't have room on top for it but near the bottom I do.

May I ask, why wouldn't you put a chalice on an angle?

Personally I like my chalice and acans on the bottom if lighting is decent, and imo acans do better on the sand bed.

I just have better luck with growth, and decreased incidents of tissue recession when the entire area of tissue is exposed to the light at an even angle. Could just be me.;D

Actually, chalices should be placed at an angle when they are placed in higher light to prevent them getting burned. But the preferred placement is low in the tank and flat.

Depends on the lighting, mine do way better about midway on a rock ledge.

The only problem and its all a matter of opinion as to weather its a problem of not is the chalice as it grows will curve up towards the light, then once its getting the light it requires it will flatten out and grow straight out.

I would lower the chalice. Your acans are actually blastos.

You might want to look a little closer at them becasue they are most definitely Acans.
