I just added sand to my new tank. Theres about 1/4 or maybe even less of water from when I washed the sand. There is suds/foam along glass. Is this normal?

I have always had lots of foam off of my sand. You can scoop it out by hand or just wait for it to go away. I remove it.

my dad had a similar problem when I was younger
every day, I would arrive home and it would be

"Steve, Im sick of the suds on the glass" or "Steve, always the suds on the glass, Im getting really fed up with it" or sometimes " Steve these suds on the glass are driving me insane , Im losing my mind with it son"

    I said
"Dad, if you feel that strongly, you need to give up your window cleaning route"

    Steve

but yes ladwpwkrk - its common to have a film on the glass when a reef is set up with new sand, the more you rinse the new dry sand, the less this occurs
