Are these crabs safe?

    I picked these up this morning. Not sure what type of crabs they are. Are they safe for my reef tank? I have sps mostly.

    general rule of thumb, aside the negrolineata crabs are a bad idea (no pun intended)

    I put them in refugium, if that's okay.

    No offense, but holy cow those things are ugly! They don't LOOK safe, but I'm sure someone can get you an accurate ID

    I think they're so ugly they're cute. I've always heard a rule of thumb is that if the crab is very hairy lol - they're most likely not reef safe.

    Always better safe then sorry with crabs (lol). Since you already caught them that is 90% of the battle.
