So my porcelain crab was sitting on the edge of a rock, and what looked like a part of it's abdomen or apron shell was open. And on the inside it appeared to look like eggs. It was even sorting them with one of it's legs. Does anyone know if these are in fact eggs? And does anyone have info on how they spawn or if they have in an aquarium?

    Thought this was interesting:

    I found it here:

    Shedd Aquarium

I don't think those are eggs - do you have two of them? Is it possible the male left a prize on her chest in anticipation?

They could be.My emerald crabs spawned all the time and the female did the same thing the only difference is the emerald had hundreds of eggs.Keep an eye out at night after lights out with a flash light about 30-60 min after they go off.Or if you have some lps in your tank just look at them-they will prob have all their feeders out and be munching on some larvae.

I do have 2 of them, and yes it is possible. I read that last night from the Shedd site. And I saw a pic of one with eggs, but there a lot more than what I could see in mine.

That's pretty cool.... I'd be tempted to try and raise them.

I know right.... clowns are just the start for me. Once I get set up with more space I definitely want to try other stuff. I just don't have the room right now.
