Are these good hard corals as a first one?

    Photosynthetically Active Radiation which is basically the spectral range of light comparable to solar light.

    yes i did say that. but when you asked, you didnt bring up anything about sps corals. you had asked about easy corals in general. this lighting setup allows you to keep a wider range of corals than before. and as i said, im not 100% sure about not being able to have the plate.

    reading the description on live aquria for the green apple, seems like your lights would be ok so long as its placed in the upper half. a 55 is kinda shallow (compared to other 48 in tanks) so i think we get away a little with lighting when someone talks about placement and lighting requirments. the only reason i would stay away from sps right now is water stablilty. but i am very new to all of this, so take it with a grain of salt
