    hi all,

i recently moved my 2 beloved fish (clown and blue tang) from a smaller fish only tank which i had for 3 years, to a bigger tank with live rock.

i have read through some posts about things on live rocks, and ive found something on my rock that looks sort of like an aptasia. ive attached a pic and also some pics of other things on my rock i hope you guys can help me identify! and guide me to whether they are harmful or not ..

i also have many little sprouts on my live rock, which is in one of my pic. are they aptasia sprouts?

and also theres many things which sprout out into a large circle with brown in the middle (also attached a pic, but abit hard to see)

i'm actually abit nervous about them living in the bigger tank because i'm scared the live rock might have things which may harm them! they have actually paired up very well together and ive fallen too much in love with them !

anyway .. thanks in advance to all who help and reply :)

The first one looks like aiptasia so you would want to get rid of that one - the 2nd and
3rd are just feather dusters, so they are fine! The fouth i think are brittles stars so they are fine too.

    Hope this helps.

The first 3 are feather dusters and the last one looks like some kind of worm. Luna

The first one may be a type of hydroid.

+1 Last pic looks like juvenile bristleworms. None are harmful to your tank or its inhabitants.

First two are a toss up between feather duster or hydroid. A lot of hydroids are mistaken for feather dusters. I learned the hard way on that.

Hydroids are the polyp stage of jellyfish. I had some in a tank that came in on some premo liverock I got from a guy breaking down a tank. That particular kind looked like brownish feather dusters and glowed neon green under actinics. Didnt think much of it until one day when I was cleaning some equipment and got stung multiple times when I grabbed a hold of a piece of it. Looked and saw a bunch of blobs with tentacles about 1" long. Took pics just incase I had a reaction to it so there would be evidence of whatever it was. Posted pics on here and was ID'd as jellyfish. I did some research on it, low and behold, I saw a pic of the hydroids that looked identicle to the "feather dusters" in my tank. I have since took that tank down, and let rocks set out on the back porch for the winter.

I had something similar to that hydroid in my tank at one time. It killed my snail that was an inch and a half long.. Then my Coral Beauty just ate it.
