Firefox rocks my socks. Rare earth magnets are freakishly strong. I wonder how they separate them...

I take mine out and let it set in the fish room all the time. Just make sure you keep the two piece away from each other.

LOL!!! Too funny. I had my fingers caught in the pump holders one day...about broke my fingers...can only imagine what would happen if I got my hand stuck in one of those....

I can see it now...I place one part in my LR...the other part in the computer room...and they go crashing through both tanks to get to each other!!:eek::eek:

Magfloats do suck! But my LFS sells those for like 180.00 or something...get one of these on "3 easy payments" and I am set!!!!

When I deal with these magnets and get them stuck together - I have to slide them apart. Can't pull them apart. You have to twist one end away so only one pole is touching and then slide them apart. The biggest of these types of magnets I dealt with in this way was about 3/4" thick and 2" long.

Great stud finders and credit card wipers these are!

These days you can stick one magnet on a steel beam of some sort, then stick a metal chain to the other end (or weld it if you're concerned...) and hang on the chain like a swing.

I'm pretty sure those things are designed for use only on thicker aquarium glass. Anything less and something's gotta give...and it won't be the magnets. That would be a nasty cleanup.:p

To some folks, money isn't the deciding factor. Some would rather pay more and get convenience, or what they feel is value for their dollar.

I remember when I was a child, I could not imagine why someone would pay 5 times more for a nicer car than they would for a utilitarian one. "Why do it," I asked, "It's only a car, and the more expensive one doesn't get you there any better than the cheaper model."

    As an adult, I understand.

That dozen eggs you get at a 7-11 is twice the price as the grocery store, but we pay for convenience sometimes. The bottled water at a ball game might be $3.50, but sometimes ya just gotta.

If Otty likes the $119 glass cleaner, more power to him.

    Now me myself, I like my $400 Vortech. . .. :(
