the only thing is, is that the bta didnt get into the power head, it got into the intake tube for the ac70 (my filter/refugium)... and there is nothing i can do about that... although i have seen a surface skimmer made for aquaclears, i dont know whether or not it works...

If you are referring to a Aqua-clear 70 filter HOB type filter then its a power head. Its just in the outside box that suck water up the extension tube that is inside the tank.. Also anemones are like a jellyfish and you can never pull water from the aquarium directly via any type of pump. It always has to go over a spillway as gravity fed.
But you are not the first to have this happen nor was I learned the lesson in 1972 ish.. It was and long tentacle Atlantic anemone cost me like 7.00 :) and in 1972 I could have filled my 1970 GTX 440 shaker up for 5.00 maybe and got a six pack :) And you won't be the last to have it happen either.. But if you learned then it will not happen to you gain :)
Don't get me wrong I'm not trying to sound like I'm getting on you about a dead anemone.. I'm not that type and it after all was just a bag of expensive water :) But it was you money and I'm sure you would have better use for the loot then anemone suhshi.... Nuff said by me just trying to offer some experiences I had along these lines. :)

Man im so sorry!! I was just braging about my purc in my bta to you, and now I feel terible, :( . I never thought they would get sucked into a power filter!! I have one tooo. My bta hasent moved in like 6 months, but now Im worried. Look at it this way, you had to be doing somthing right, because most die in the first month or two in captivity. Well good luck down there and just remember the good times, :).

niether of you worry about it! but it was an animal and i hate to contribute to the loss of an animal. so thank you both! im not stressing it that much anymore i just look at it as a lesson learned. so, i would not get another unless i start a nano cube and i doubt that will happen... lol anyway thanks for sharing your experiences. and birchell dont worry about sounding like a jerk! lol. at least someone is having better luck than i am ;D
