$10 a polyp is a good price, really nice ones, those with 3 or more colors or really vibrant ones can go for more. LFS tend to really inflate the prices of acans, I have seen 5-6 polyps go for $100+.

acans are probably by far my favorite coral right now...
I have 6 of them myself....
make sure you place them in the bottom part of the tank to maintain the best color also

yeah or on rocks on bottom. I have some of my larger ones on the sand leaning against a rock so that the polyps can eventually grow onto that rock also.

My smaller colonies I have a rock that is on the bottom of the tank.

Eventually when you get them to eat better they will really start to grow and will spread nicely to surrounding rocks

Of course if you have a fish (sand sifter) that loves to bury stuff in sand you probably would want to put it on a rock as it will bury it.

do the acans need to lay flat so the head is facing up at the light or can I place then so the head faced the front glass? I want to put them on a rock I. the lower section of my tank that faces the front of he tank.
