One of our maintenance customers has a 670 tank and a baby bangai actually survived and is living in his huge sump. Well I happened to have a few large diadema urchins in my tank that weren't doing me much good so I put them in his sump with the baby bangai. The bangai hasn't even sneezed at the urchins and seems afraid to get close to them. ??? sigh.

So you may not need to go the trouble.

i would grab an empty 2 liter soda bottle, cut the bottom off maybe mid-way or however you like. take off the screw cap, and slide some longer toothpick things in the little plastic piece thats allways left over from opening the cap. then they have a place to actually hide out if they need to, maybe poke a bunch of holes in the bottle and shove it in the sand...pretty simple :)

That's probably the best one yet!!

Sadly, I got home from work yesterday and my male banggai was empty-mouthed. I searched the whole tank, the sump, and found nothing. All he could do was look at me with this, "Hey man, I haven't eaten in like 20 days" look on his face. I fed him.

This is the second time they've bred, but no fry. Someday. :-/

The search is ongoing, Brian. I jostled all the chaeto in the sump/fuge today and didn't find any.

I haven't moved any LR, but I suppose there's a chance there are a few hiding here and there.

I'd love to see some! I've read that they're a perfect replica of the full-size cardinal, just jr. :)
