I am trying to decide on a new skimmer for my 210 build, I want to run an external and was leaning towards the swc xtreme 250 1a,but after researching the askoll pumps i have heard that they shouldn't be run externally due to overheating issues. anyone have any experience and or input? My next choice is a super reef octopus xp3000 external with a bubble blaster pump.
    opinions please:)

Why do you need to run external? Anyway, I've sort f heard the same. Some have, but spotty info on it. Some of the other Laguna based models have a cooling loop or anti lime loop they call it... which is basically cooling. Some say you can some say don't.... so ya... I'm not much on answers, just confirming not much out there.

I know the topic has been discussed on RC a few times and this is what I'm going off of.
