LETS PUT IT THIS WAY.....I HAD AN ASM G-2 SKIMMER. I WAS SETTING UP A FOWLR TANK AND DECIDED TO "UPGRADE" SKIMMER FOR MY REEF TANK. SO I PURCHASED A HYDOR SKIMMER http://www.marinedepot.com/_In_Sump...n_Skimmers-Hydor_USA-HD00584-FIPSISNW-vi.html

WELL, I HAVE SINCE RETURNED THE ASM SKIMMER TO THE REEF TANK AND IT HAS PULLED OUT SO MUCH MORE THEN THE MORE EXPENSIVE SKIMMER.... IN MY OPINION I LOVE IT....MY MOTHER HAS THE ASMG1 ON HER 75G

The mesh mod is when you get rid of the needles on the wheel and instead you install a mesh material to chop up the water finer.

I have the ASM G1 skimmer in my 75 gallon and LOVE it. It can be a bit noisy though and I had read the noisiness was a problem on reviews from the website I ordered it from.

I'm going to jump in here rather than start a new with the same questions. Any one else have comments on the ASM G2? I am upgrading my 90 to a 150. The lfs recomended the G2. The other question is my refugium is tight on room. Is the G2 internal or can it be used external. If not external what would be a good external?
