ASM G1 Skimmer

Ok. I bought this skimmer used and just hooked it up to my tank a couple weeks ago. For the first few days it was skimming properly and pulling some junk out. I set it up with the riser tube in its lowest position and i think it needs to come up a lot? The bubble in the skimmer arent even making it up to the neck of the skimmer. My question is can i just go ahead and adjust the riser tube so that the level in the skimmer rises so it can skim properly or do i need to move it very gradually (1/8 - 1/2 inch) increments?

 

I have the same skimmer set up since Dec 1. When i set it up i pulled the tube up till the bubbles came up to the top of the cone, where the collection cup starts. Its been pulling crap ever since.

cool. do you think i should slowly raise it over the course of a week or so, or should i be ok to just raise it up in one motion?

 

yu can raise it in big increments, just have to keep an eye on it. or set it half way then either work up or down depending on the skimate.
