    Question,
Currrently run ASM Skimmer on my 125. How do I quiet the air that is getting sucked into the pump? This thing is awfully loud that I am not running it. Also the water fills up to around the neck level of the skimmer, is that common or should there be more bubbles than water?

If there is nothing that I can do, is there a skimmer that runs silently?

If you just started running the skimmer it may take a little while for alot of bubbles to start forming a froth at the top. You should still see a good amount of bubbles in the skimmer body itself though.:)

ibefishy, that is an awesome idea..thanks! Vinny thanks for the info, I do see a lot of micro bubbles near the neck but the water is higher than what I think it should be...then again I could be wrong.

If you can take a pic of it. The water/bubbles should be coming up to the base of the collection cup.;)

Foreverfishy just try to avoid wet skimming. That is when the froth is very wet & you run the risk of the skimmer pumping out SW into the collection cup. As Vinny stated pics always make it easier..

John, I will take a picture after work later on tonight. As for the froth, that is exactly what is happening.

    Thanks

    Skimmer with Pictures

Here are some pictures of the Skimmer while it's running. Maybe it is this way since I haven't ran it more than a couple hours...always afraid to as you can see how it fills up with water in the reservior (sp?)
