asm mjni g skimmer question

    I recently bought a ask mini g and k got a Rio 2100 pump from a friend. My question is would this be too much water flow for the skimmer? The skimmer I think is rated for 75gal and pump is rated for 690gph is this okay?

    ...I am by far no expert in this. I'm pretty sure you can't run a regular pump on a protein skimmer like that. It needs the G-300 pump. It needs to draw in air and has a needle wheel impeller.

    Did it not come with the pump?? A replacement is about 75 bucks.

    It needs a certain pump that as stated above pulls air in as well with a venturi wheel.
