I've used ASM personally and in client tanks for a long time, never smaller than a G2 but their really well built skimmers, do a great job and require low maintence, I've looked at the PM Redlines and PM is known to make a good product so I'm sure either would do really well for you

I was leaning towards the PM Redline. It is a little less expensive, but is very well built. It is the same basic design as the ASM as well too. I was reading around and several people have said that ASMs used to be very good deals but now have gotten a little more expensive and aren't as worth it.

I got my Bullet skimmer used. Long story, but when Powerman received it the drain was broken and had a small crack in the collection cup. PM repaired it, used, out of warranty, for free. The guys there are easy to work with. Since the skimmer was used, it lost a gasket somehow for the becket injector. I called them today and they're sending a replacement o-ring to me free of charge. Again, it's a used skimmer I wasn't even buying from them. Their customer service is top notch, and the product is quality. I highly recommend them.

After reading the reviews from ASM link it seems the pump is prone to problems.

Well, I decided to go with the Redline. It would fit into my sump a little better and will suit my needs a little better than the ASM. I will let you guys know how it works out.
