has anyone had this issue? I recently started GFO, and since then it seems the asterinas are going after some of my corals. I'm all for live and let live but they demolished my pipe organs last week, and now they are showing up on my zoas. thoughts?

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
I have watched them eat my zoanthids. I do not believe all types of Asterina are coral eaters, but some are, and some might be opportunistic feeders.

Haha I used to think they were cool looking and they never touched my corals. Appears I was lucky.

^^+1 I have a few and think they look cool but I'd probably think differently if I saw one munching on corals.

for now at least I'm going to pull any I see on coral out (and burn them with fire;)). after looking closely it seems to be 3 types, grey, white and white with red dots. The grey and white with red seem to be the problem ones.

these guys are relentless. i was thinking of getting a harlequin shrimp to do a little cleanup. would I be able to get it back out after its job is done? I wouldn't want it to starve to death
