So my hippo tang as spots all over hime and has started to get a couple on his eyes. He is eating like a horse still and is nice and plump. Can he recover? I've been feeding romaine, and Formula B soaked in garlic. Hoping he makes it!

i would remove him and treat him. sounds like ich. if hes eating he has a good chance! garlic is not a treatment, just gets the fish to eat whatever you have soaked it in.

Yea, if it's that bad, then I would isolate him, you can then treat him with copper.

Once they stop eating is the point at which the usually can't recover. Copper would work, but I think it will recover on it's own. What I would do is wait for a day or two more and if it gets worse remove it, but I dislike copper because it stresses the fish.

Actually garlic is known to boost your immune system, don't know about fish, but i'm sure it does some good. Glad to see he's still eating. GL with the fish!

Thanks everyone- I do have a QT tank but did not want to jump the gun with taking him out. My Naso and other fish in the tank look great no spots at all. I'll give it a day or so more maybe start soaking food in vitamin c and see if that helps. other then the white spots it looks great. It's not flashing or anything.
