I put my tang back into main tank. He was freaking out bad in fuge. When I took him out noticed big scratches on him and now those are slowly going away.

+1 on not moving him, that will just make the problem worse. If he is eating good he will recover.

Keeping the fish comfortable is the most important thing IMO also. QT only when necessary. If he stops eating or starts moving in an erratic fashion, it may be time for a formalin dip. It is harsh and has been known to kill fish, but it worked for my yellow tang.

Is Formalin prescription? I know Formalin works very well if necessary. I have a friend who is an aquarist at the New England Aquarium, and they give all of their fish a one month quarantine followed by a Formalin dip before they go into a Display Tank. I observed the process on a Sculpin, a small Atlantic fish that he caught in Boston Harbor. I would be all for leaving the fish in the DT until it stops eating at which point Copper or Formalin would be necessary.

No- There are fish in there that were not QT. (hanging my head in shame) but they were not added near the time of this out break.. I think the outbreak occured because of a different idot move I made by power sanding the trim aroung the tank (in wall) If I had to guess that might have stressed him out a bit.

I have used the product Kick Ich, which is safe to put directly into your tank with inverts because it has no copper in it. It has a very strict schedule you have to stick to, but it worked well for me with my blue hippo tang. I also picked up another cleaner shrimp to help get rid of the disease, with the combo of the shrimp and Kick Ich it seemed to get rid of the spots.

    Good luck to you

If i were you i'd go to my LFS, and buy a cleaner wrasse. Have them feed it, and make sure you see him eating fish food.
My cleaner wrasse was instrumental in keeping my tangs free of ICH. I would'nt own a tang without one.
