The ATB Protein Skimmers sure made a splash last year with their bright colors, conical shape and high quaility parts. Later this month a new ATB skimmer line hits the market - the ATB Econo Skimmer 840 & ATB Econo 1050 Skimmer. With a Sicce PSK-2500 pump with a oversized custom volute (optional Askoll 1500 Air Star on the 1050 model) these cones are sure to churn out the froth! 8)

i think it is in reference to the footprint of the skimmer in comparison to what the skimmer is rated to do. So it is economizing space in your sump with out sacrificing the quality of the skimmer.

I'm interested in hearing if anyone has used one, and how it really performed? This and the Vertex / Royal Exclusive Alpha Cone 200 look really nice but do they out perform a 400 dollar unit, like ASM g3 or Octopus Extreme 250. I'm starting to gather the equipment for my new 150g tall and any insight or previous experience with these skimmers would be nice to hear. I currently am running a ASM G2, ASM G3, and a Coralife 65, on my 75g, 75g, and 29g, respectively. The ASM's are nice, the coralife is ok, but for the new 150g I want a super efficient unit. Any thoughts would be great.
