I got the fixture up today and we just love it :) !
I have it set to 20" above the tank. I was wondering about acclimating my corals. I have mostly softies. A bubble coral, a frogspawn, a zoanthid, a fiji leather, a monti and some others I dont even know, some kind of tree.
The tank is a 75 gal and is 48"WX18"DX20"H.
Any tips on how to do the acclimating? Like how often to lower the light and how to set the photo period?

    Thanks,

    Mikro

    Hi Mikro

    congrats on the new fixture

questions before advise can be given

which powermodule did you get (4 or 6 lamp option?)

what lighting did you have before upgrade?

its important to know this, so that we know exactly what kind of increase in light the corals would be expossed to

decent upgrade, Mikro - your corals should thank you for that IMHO

I assume you ran the PCs about 12 hours per day?

    if so
your at 20 inches height now - so a decrease of 1 inch every week would be my choice
(easy if its on chains as one or 2 links lower is simple)

duration- I would run 6 hours only for 2 weeks and then increase by 1 hour every other week depending on how the corals are looking - if they are expanding as normal OK
if they show signs of refusal to open fully, dont increase duration or lower height that week

build up to 10 hours of daylight with 12 hours of supplemental actinics - 1 hour either side of the daylights

    Steve,

I forgot to ask you how high you think the fixture should remain above the tank once I'm finished acclimating..
