So today I found this fixture, and am reconsidering 2 AIs for the 120 rimless. My dad still likes the control of the AI, but this would halve the initial cost, and it would take 3+ years to arrive at the AIs cost assuming I replace all bulbs at 9 months. Now, I was wondering if you could set points and ramp times for each bulbs? On their site it says "10 settings throughout the day" but would that equal to an AIs blue on to 50% over 1hr type ramping? Also, I know this would probablt not achieve the PAR of the AI, but would it be enough to grow SPS 1/2 the way down a 22" tank?
Thanks for helping, I can't find any info online as of yet.

Will 6 bulbs get enough spread for a 120 suspended above the tank?

The fixture will handle all your coral lighting needs and then some. As for the settings I haven't read about the fixture. Go to ati-aquaristik to see if you can find anything on the fixture. You will need to translate the site from German.

I would consider the 8 bulb unit to get a better light spread over the tank. I have 6 bulbs on my 75 and like the spread much better than 4 bulbs on an 18" wide tank.

Thanks, will have to practice my German again...I found it said it had 2 channels, in the 6 bulb it was 2 and 4, and in the 8 it was 2 and 6.
If it was hung 12"+ from the tank, would it still get enough spread? Its gonna be rimless so it has to look sleek. Also, anuy ballast problems?

The six bulb would have plenty of spread from 12". The 8 would definitely spill over. They have had the usual problems with ballasts but seem to have found ones that are not a problem. The dimmable is new so there may be problems with the new ballasts, but with ATI's reputation I doubt there will be.

I suggest getting 3 ATI Blue Plus, 2 ATI Aquablue Specials and one ATI Purple Plus bulbs. Place from front to back
