anemone's really require advanced care. As you are finding out, they will move around and potentially sting to death any coral in their way.

They require excellent water conditions and very good lighting.

What kind of lighting do you have and how old is the tank?

You may want to consider returning it. These things die from the inside out. Which means it will appear to be "fine" until it is too late.

Also, if they are stressed (not sure on your exact species) they have the potential to release toxins that could literally wipe out your tank.

Clowns don't host to condys. Every so often there is an exception. "my perm. are all goo" gives us absolutely no information we an use. Do you own a test kit or get your water tested at your LFS? Do you use strip tests or liquid tests? If you don't own a kit I suggest you buy liquid test kits. They are more accurate and give you better information than strips.

As for your lighting, anemones need very strong lighting, in reality only one of your bulbs was beneficial to your anemone. Actinic bulbs have very little PAR (photosynthetically available radiation). The age of your bulbs, hieght from above the tank, and depth of the anemone are all factors that will affect how much PAR reaches your live stock. Having a glass top wil also affect PAR. While I have kept a bubble tip anemone alive under PCs (power compact bulbs), PCs are not what one would call great lighting for anemones and a good amount of coral. Each organism requires different amounts of lighting, flow, and temp. Go to liveaquaria.com for some useful information on livestock. 3reef is alse an excellent place to do research because we are not trying to sell goods.

    goodluck with your tank.

nitrates in the safe zone....as in zero? what type of test kit is this, what are your params in numbers? The "safe zone" only really applies to damsels and other hardy fish. Not nems...
