I have a cracked rib, so I have been moving slowly lately. Long story, but the short version is that a 300lb guy I roll with in my jiu-jitsu class decided he wanted to crush my ribs last Thursday, on accident though. :p

Got my order in from BRS

    1 x 75GPD RO/DI 5 Stage *PLUS* System
    - July Specials : FREE Float Valve $199.99
1 x Level-Loc auto top off unit for RO systems $99.99
    1 x Tunze 3155 Osmolator Universal 115V/60Hz$195.59

Doing my part to help the economy ::):p

That RO/DI unit is frickin huge. How high can I mount the RO/DI unit? I want it out of the way, so I'm thinking I'd like to put it 6' up from the floor.

There shouldn't be any problem with that, should there?

The Level Loc is for the reservoir, to shut off the filter. Overkill, but i figured it would be nice to have.

The Tunze will go right on the DT.

I got a RubberMaid Roughneck storage bin. It is 14 gallons, but I'm thinking I'll only do about 5-8.

Hope to install this jazz this weekend. We'll see.

Very nice, I don't think you'll have a problem installing the RO unit at 6' high, there should be enough water pressure to handle that if your house plumbing is not completely ineffective. Lots of people mount their RO units high.
Why only use 5-8 gallons of your 14 potential? You never know when you're going to need more RO water for rinsing off utensils, or mixing up an emergency batch of water for a water change etc. It's not going to go bad and the container has the space to spare, why not use it?

I'm using the little fish room under the stairs. My little girl loves sneaking in here to color. (18 months).

I'm worried she'll figure out there is a "swimmin pool" in there... I don't want her to drown... The 14 gallon spreads out the water that I'm thinking 5-8 won't be too deep.

not that we don't watch her, but kids can be sneaky! just safety concerns.

Not sure if I'll be able to keep the lid on tightly w/the level-loc, etc.

I have a separate 5 gallon with a lid that seals that I will keep on standby too. ;)

Screwtape is probably the best person to ask, he helped me with my ATO!
I will still give you my input though.. which for the most part ovelaps with screwtape's.
I don't know if anyone mentioned it but your RO unit can pump water up way beyond 4ft. (mine is a room away and the tubing to the sump goes up around doors). I have split the output from the RODI - one goes directly to the sump (in your case it can go to the DT). I am using the level-loc, yes it is ugly but very functional. I actually made a similar setup which was a lot cheaper and did the same. The other output goes to a container right next to the RODI, which has the new setup I made with the help of Screwtape (again, thank you!!!) - a float switch connected to a solenoid valve turns the valve on and off when the water reaches the desired level. I have a float valve installed also - in the unlikely event of the solenoid failing. The solenoid is on a timer, which allows it to be open only for a couple of hours a day so even if everything fails, you won't have too much water on the floor :)

    I'll post some pics also..
I had the JBJ and hated it.. you can only run a pump for a maximum of 14min. on it
Using the Tunze alarm now, which is a lot better.
